It's A Talent Random Acts of Thought

Me and Writing

I wrote my first story when I was about ten years old. It was a love story. And I hate love stories and rom-coms and especially chick flicks. I don’t know why I wrote a love story. I gave it to my mother to read. Big mistake. She laughed. I don’t know why, it was a good story.

Actually, it was a VERY good story because I was only ten when I wrote it.

I wrote another story after that. I guess I was about 12. It was a story based upon a late-night radio show. (yes, I am that old) So, I can’t take any credit for it. I won’t even tell you the title of the story or who narrated it on the radio. And yes, I do remember both those fun facts.

Oh, by the way, mine was better.

I wrote my second story, a screen-play when I was fifty. I gave it to my husband to read. Slightly smaller mistake, but none the less. It was good but as he said ‘it needed work”.

I wrote a children’s story when I was 52. It was good, it is good, it is very good. But like all artist, I had my demons and didn’t think it was worth trying to get published.

But some day I will publish it.

Now I write for me.

And for you.
